MEGA was Future Publishing’s flagship Mega Drive magazine, and for the majority of its life it was the best-selling Mega Drive magazine in the UK (according to the Audit Bureau of Circulations). After 23 issues, MEGA was sold to Maverick Magazines as part of a deal involving Maverick’s critically acclaimed PC Player magazine. Eight months after changing hands to Maverick, MEGA had become a 32-page pamphlet. MEGA lasted for at least 37 issues in total.
