Sega Zone lasted for at least 23 issues. The magazine came into existence when the multi-format Game Zone split into a Sega half (Sega Zone) and a Nintendo half (Game Zone volume 2, sometimes informally referred to as Nintendo Game Zone). Sega Zone started its life at Dennis Publishing, and after twelve issues it was sold to Future Publishing. After its eighteenth issue, Future sold Sega Zone to Maverick Magazines, and the magazine quickly faded away.
